Upcoming Opportunities

There are so many great ways to get involved at Sakai! We need many parent helpers to make our school fun and supportive for all students. Thank you!

Game Room

Game Room volunteers come in and supervise kids while they play games during lunch/recess.  Schedules can be either weekly or bi-weekly.  Sign up here

Makerspace

Makerspace is a place where inventors, artists and tinkerers can foster their creativity and imagination.  We are looking for parents to supervise during this popular recess option.  Schedules can be either weekly or bi-weekly.  Please contact our Makerspace Coordinator, Mark Gurtler, at mgurtler@bisd303.org to volunteer.

Read Naturally

The Read Naturally program provides support for students who need to increase their fluency and comprehension.  Reading tutors come in twice a week (Tues/Thurs or Wed/Fri) to read one-on-one with a student for 20 minute sessions.  This program is coordinated by Ruth Schmidt, Sakai reading specialist, and runs November through April.  Please contact our Read Naturally Volunteer Coordinator, Deb Shaffer, at debshaffer52@msn.com to volunteer or learn more.
